Hamilton’s Super Mario’s 2 For 1 Pizza and Wings shop says it’s being forced to close its doors after 26 years due to the landlord’s decision to not renew their lease.

A few loyal customers popped in for the last time to share their sympathies on Saturday.

“I’ve lived in this area for seven years now. I was walking by here always bringing my grandchildren, very very difficult to see that it’s going nobody can replace this place nobody can replace Mario’s,” said long-time customer April Dejardins.

“Prices have always been fantastic. They have good pizza, great wings, and they themselves are wonderful,” said another.

Back in May, owners Bill and Kim Coa received a shocking letter of termination from their landlord via email. Jessica Cao, the daughter of the owners says the non-renewal came after a broken promise.

“They wrote to my parents saying that they would get back to them come February of 2024 with a proposal for a lease renewal but come February 2024 that never happened.”

She also says the shop was a big part of her and her sister’s childhood and that she’s going to miss it.

“This is where my sister and I will spend a lot of time and it does hold a lot of value and meaning to us because we grew up here.”

CHCH News reached out to the landlord for comments but has yet to hear back.
