Israeli defense forces mistakenly kill 3 Israeli hostages

Hamilton, Halton, Niagara and area news from CHCH - Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara news..

The carnage unfolding in the Israel-Hamas war took a shocking twist in Gaza on Friday.

The Israeli defense forces say it mistakenly shot and killed three of its own citizens held hostage. Their military forces say soldiers made the error, thinking the victims were a threat.

Officials in Israel say right now it’s not clear if the three hostages had escaped or were abandoned when they encountered the Israeli troops.

The killings happened right in the heart of where much of the fighting is currently taking place in Gaza.

Israel says they’re conducting a review of the killings. This follows Israel maintaining its stance on eliminating Hamas, which could take months to do according to its military.

This as international outrage and rare criticism from the U.S., Israel’s main ally, increases their concerns over the killing of civilians in Gaza.
